7-10 March 2016 in Brasov Transylvania University (Romania) the kick-off meeting of the Library Network Support Services: modernising libraries in Armenia, Moldova and Belarus through library staff development and reforming libraries was held. The meeting was attended by partner universities from Armenia, Moldova, Belarus, Romania, Germany, Greece, Ireland and Balkan countries. The director of scientific library of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, Hrynko Mikalai and the head of international project department Elena Knor were the representatives of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno. The meeting gave an opportunity to get acquainted with all members of the consortium partner universities, needs of their libraries, with the staff, the opportunities offered by the project and the expectations of the participating universities.
All the participants of university partners gave presentations of their universities and expressed opinions on the project realization.
Review of the project for Western Balkan countries was made by coordinators of the project Gerald Cavanagh and Padraig Kirby from Limerick Institute of Technology (Ireland).
The coordinator of the project for Eastern Partnership countries Tereza Khechoyan, vice-rector for International Relations of the Public Administration Academy of the RA described aims and objectives, work-packages, planning activities, programs of training, development of quality management and evaluation, dissemination and project sustainability.
The financial manager of international projects Manana Salukvadze told about financial rules of the project, their completing order and reporting details.
The meeting program included visit to Transylvania University library and Bran Castle.
